The Mobile industry is growing insanely due to so many people using there mobile phones 24/7, gaming on there phones is getting better with mobile phones becoming increasingly better with technological advances( this includes Tablets ).  

75% of the app stores (apple) income was from gaming alone, more popular games such as candy crush Saga made $1,097,578 in the year.

Steam

PC games use steam from its easy use, and massive collection of "free to play" and Bought games, different game genres use to be hard to apply for steam green light ( play and approve program ) now there letting Indie Developers to post games for people to buy and play. as it cant always see certain issues with games most indie games pass through as really broken, but even with this some indie games do get with minimal issues, this helped the indie developer community.

Early Access

Early access is becoming the new best thing as before the game has finished development companies release a Alpha copy for the public to test. This can benefit funding for the game as people will buy it to get a sneak peak at the game, this also helps with bug fixes so the developers don't have to employ bug testers.

YouTube and Developers

Developers would often use YouTube to market their game via gameplay videos or trailers. This helps to show the target audience what the game consists off. This marketing technique is useful because it is free and easy for companies to advertise on YouTube. Not only is it simple for the companies, it is also easy for viewers because they can access these videos from home.

Not only is this used for marketing but it is also used for reviewing games. For example YouTubers would be able to get access to the game early, this gives a chance for the audience to see how the game plays. Allowing YouTubers to play these games gives a chance for them to review the game. The audiences would also trust these reviews because the YouTubers know what people would enjoy within the game.
